ATTENTION ALL COACHES

 

The new level 3 Technical Modules programme will begin from the start of April 2010. These modules will run as one day courses, and available in all disciplines for Level 2 and above coaches in their discipline. The modules are purely practical based and will take the form of a coaching clinic.

Level 2 UKCC coaches need to attend all modules in their discipline if they wish to progress to the UKCC level 3 Generic Coaching course, which will be available from April 2011. Non UKCC trained coaches and coaches with higher qualifications can attend modules as refresher courses or for Continued Professional Development.

Tumbling is the first discipline to announce the dates and venues for their Technical Modules. Please see attached for details. Further discipline schedules will follow shortly once the resources and timetables are confirmed.

Gymnastics England Club Conference 2010

Gymnastics England are set to host their inaugural Club Development Conference and Awards Evening this June. The conference will offer inspirational and educational workshops with keynote speakers and examples of practical and workable case studies to help you build a sustainable legacy for your club. The awards will celebrate our passionate and dedicated workforce, who are giving their time and efforts to drive our sport at grass roots.

Gymnastics England Club Conference & Awards Evening will be on 12th and 13th June 2010 at Burleigh Court, Loughborough. This exciting new conference has been developed to up skill the gymnastics workforce. Speakers will include Mark Gannon - UK Development Director, Paul Hall - Performance Coach, Sheffield Sharks and  many other inspirational and educational people to help you build a sustainable legacy for your club.

The 2010 Gymnastics England Club Conference theme is "What's your future?" and will focus on perhaps the most exciting few years'gymnastics in England has ever
had. It will celebrate the workforce that's supporting all of our gymnasts in the community and those who are winning medals and aiming for Olympic success. The next few years will have an even bigger impact on clubs and it's important that Gymnastics England are ready for the increase in demand on our beautiful sport.

Celebrating Gymnastics In England...
Do you know someone who symbolises the very best in Gymnastics?

Gymnastics England is pleased to announce the staging of its first ever Annual Awards on the 12th June at Burleigh Court, Loughborough. They are now looking for nominees who you think deserve recognition for either their achievement or dedication to gymnastics over the past 12 months.
Is there someone who you think deserves an award for his or her hard work and commitment to the region or club? The workforce are an essential component in the gymnastics delivery system within England and the Gymnastics England Awards provide a unique opportunity to recognise and celebrate the achievements of the  members from the Regions and the priceless contribution they make to the gymnastics landscape.
The purpose of the Awards is to thank and reward English clubs and their workforce for their dedication and hard work in the development of gymnasts and club networks. It will celebrate the hard work and commitment of the workforce including Coaches, Volunteers, Welfare Officers, Event Organisers, Tutors, Judges and those in the education sector giving children their first taste of our exciting sport. Winners will be awarded at the Gymnastics England Awards Celebration Evening, at Burleigh Count, Loughborough.

2010 ROADSHOW / WORKSHOPS IN THE SOUTHERN REGION AVAILABLE

Disability Roadshow

We would like to invite you to attend the first Hampshire Gymnastics and Trampoline disability roadshow on Sunday 9th May at Chamberlayne Leisure Centre, Southampton. This is a great opportunity for people with disabilities to come and have a go at gymnastics and trampolining sessions. It is also suitable for coaches and teachers who want to learn and gain experience.

Regional Festival
We are running our first Regional Festival of Gymnastics at Mountbatten Leisure Centre, Portsmouth, on Sunday, 18th July 2010. This event is open to Gymnastics Clubs as well as schools to enter a team to perform a routine to music. This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase and celebrate gymnastics within the region. Teams may include Cheerleading, Trampolining, Floor, Tumbling (air track), Vaulting etc.

Tumbling Camp
We would like to invite you to attend the first Hampshire Tumbling Camp, which will be held at Basingstoke Gymnastics Club 2nd - 6th August 2010.

The event will give both gymnasts and coaches the opportunity to receive advice and coaching from International coaches and competitors.   The camp will be open to all, as it will cover skills throughout the National Development Plan into FIG level work.

Please note that places are limited and will be filled on a first-come first served basis, so please book as early as possible to avoid disappointment.
